Seniors Charlie Houghton, Noah Fortmeyer and Luke VonEschen created a video comprised of a time lapse of the painting of the senior wall in dedication to missing senior Evan and his father Damian McManus, along with other photos and videos of the two.

Houghton said the idea to create the video was a way to help or support anyone who needed it.

“It was one way to contribute and to give the community and their family something to help,” Houghton said. “But mostly for the McManus family.”

The video was first shown to the McManus family before posting it online because overall the video is for the McManus family, Houghton said.

The three seniors also offered the opportunity for students to share a memory about Evan or Damian to put in the video. This voice-over aspect of the video is the most touching, Houghton said.

“Personally it’s my favorite part of the video. I think it makes a nice tribute video, that you can watch something that everyone can connect with, hearing all these personal stories,” Houghton said.

Sophomore Justin Less said he was not close with Evan, but the video helped him comprehend what students and community are going through.

“For people who didn’t know Evan the video helps them understand what other students are experiencing,” Less said.

Fortmeyer said he agrees with Houghton but also saw it as a way to provide an opportunity for people to say something they wish they had said to Evan and Damian before they went missing.

“The voice-overs were something so people could get some last words said that they wanted to say,” Fortmeyer said. “Especially in a situation like that you always wish you had said something.”
